High demand for network security professionals in PHL, says security vendor
There’s a high demand for network security professionals in the Philippines, said international network security provider Cyberoam, caused by the growing number of local businesses shifting to more advanced technology.
“We believe that the Philippines, as an emerging market, has seen tremendous growth particularly in the manufacturing and services sector,” said Amar Mehta Sr., Head of Cyberoam Asia Pacific (APAC). “As businesses adapt to the latest in cloud, mobility, virtualization and big data, there is a growing demand for network security professionals who can deal with the challenges in the evolving tech-landscape.”
According to the independent 2015 Global Information Security Security Workforce Study, some 14,000 respondents from around the world said that organizations lack information security professional because there aren’t any suitable candidate pools to hire from. The Philippines, specifically, has a network security skills gap of 60%, according to a report by the International Data Corporation, the highest in the APAC region. — Bea Montenegro/TJD, GMA News
