Brick Street View turns your world into a giant LEGO playset

Now, even Google Street View is getting the LEGO treatment.

Welcome to Brick Street View, a hack of Google Maps that replaces the photos in Google Street View with bricked counterparts.

"This site is ... a continuation of another project, Urban Jungle Street View, which both combining and augmenting Google Maps Street View with a 3D environment," designer-artist Einer Oberg said.

He said the street view panorama includes a textured sphere plus real LEGO models of cars, flowers and trees.

Oberg said the site is hosted on Google App Engine.

A separate report on PSFK.com said the view initially shows New York, with a LEGO minifigure inviting the visitor to take her hand.

However, it noted details may be thinner in other areas, "and the project doesn’t have as many buildings as the real-life area has." — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
