Avengers: Infinity War to undergo marathon 9-month filming

In the wake of Avengers: Age of Ultron, fans are looking to the future and the next set of adventures awaiting Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the ever growing Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While there’s still a long way to go until the next major team gathering happens, Captain America star and Hollywood actor Chris Evans recently revealed during an interview that Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 & Part 2 will be filmed back to back over the span of nine months.

Having recently shaved his beard in preparation for his next adventure as the Star-Spangled Avengers in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, Evans said in an interview with Esquire that his schedule is planned through 2019, with Cap Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo also directing both Avengers sequels, and are set to start filming Infinity War sometime in fall 2016:

You know, you plan around the Marvel responsibilities. You have to. We start [Captain America: Civil War] in a couple weeks, and then that shoots until August or something like that. August or September. Then I've got some downtime and I can do with it as I please. I don't know if I want to take time off or go pursue another directing job or find a movie to act in or, you know, do whatever I'm creatively inclined to pursue or wait, relax, enjoy my life. And then we start the Infinity War, I think, some time in the third quarter. Fall or winter of 2016. That's going to be like nine months to shoot both movies back to back.

With a schedule that big and a lot of heroes to gather coming from a large number of films sharing one universe, it’s a wonder how Marvel has succeeded with their Marvel Cinematic Universe and changed the way superhero films are seen and enjoyed in the big screen today. While it’s going to be more than a year until we see  the next adventure of Cap and The Avengers in Civil War and then the BIG EPIC that is Infinity War divided into two parts in the next few years, rest assured that there’ll be plenty of developments that fans will eagerly look forward to.

Captain America: Civil War will hit theaters on May 6, 2015 in the US, while Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2 hit on 2018 and 2019 respectively. — TJD, GMA News
