Upcoming HTC flagship smartphone specs leaked online

One week before its official debut, specifications of HTC's next Android-powered flagship phone have been leaked online.

The upcoming phone—reportedly to be dubbed the HTC One M9—does not show much change from its predecessor at least on the outside, tech site The Verge reported.

One M9 is to launch on March 1 during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, it noted.

Citing data from German-language Mobile Geeks, The Verge said the phone may be sold for 749 euros in Germany, or about PhP 38,000.

The Verge said the photos show the phone may come in two-tone gold and silver, and gunmetal gray.

Inside, the specs include a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM, and 32GB storage and support for microSD expansion.

The phone's UltraPixel camera is said to have been moved to the front while a new 20-megapixel sensor is at the rear.

Google's Android 5.0 Lollipop and a new Sense 7 software skin highlight the software.

"Neither shows any great departures from the HTC One we know today," The Verge said.

Meanwhile, the phone's BoomSound speakers remain prominent and will complement a five-inch display with 1080p resolution.

"The power button seems to have been moved to the side with this new phone, which is a trend embraced by almost all smartphone makers," it said. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
