HBO launches Game of Thrones Monopoly board game

 

Indeed, what could be a more fitting board game in a world where characters vie for dominion? Monopoly, of course.

 

Fans of GoT will want to get their hands on the "Game of Thrones" edition of the classic board game, which has appeared as a "pre-release" on the HBO Store.

 

"Vie to hold dominion over the realms of men in the Game of Thrones Collector's Edition of MONOPOLY. Featuring infamous locations from the original dramatic television series, including Castle Black, Winterfell and King's Landing, players will buy, sell and trade their way to sit atop the Iron Throne," read the description of the game.

 

The collectible tokens include:

 

 

"Custom Villages and Keeps replace traditional Houses and Hotels," it added.

 

HBO announced the Monopoly game on its Twitter account with the message, "The Iron Bank is the Iron Bank. Coming in 2015, Monopoly Game of Thrones edition."

 

An article on tech site CNET noted "Game of Thrones" is "known for greed, deceit and murky politics that quickly escalate into horrible violence."
