Google Philippines announces new country manager

Google has appointed veteran marketing manager Kenneth Lingan as its new country manager for the Philippines.

In an announcement sent to GMA News Online, Google Philippines said Lingan's skills will be quite useful as the local arm of the Internet giant seeks to grow its business from its Manila office.

“The Philippines is fast digitizing, and I am very much inspired by the possibilities that Google can bring our users, advertisers, and publishers here. I’m delighted to be part of Google’s journey in the Philippines, helping to bring tools and products that make a meaningful impact in people’s lives and enabling businesses to make the most of the Internet to grow their enterprise,” Lingan said.

Before Google, Lingan worked at Unilever where he was Vice-President for Deodorants, Southeast Asia and ANZ. He also worked as marketing director for Unilever Home and Personal Care in the Gulf Region.

"Ken's 16 years of experience in marketing and brand development will be a real asset as we continue to grow our business from the Manila office,” said Julian Persaud, Google’s managing director for Southeast Asia.

Lingan graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Management Engineering. He has two young daughters. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
