Arrow and The Flash crossover coming up in December
By TIM G. VILLASOR
Two versions of DC Comics' well-known superheroes are going to team up for the very first time on television… But their camaraderie will be tested from the start when they end up facing each other first before confronting a common threat!
Working up to the excitement and anticipation that has been building up since the scarlet speedster was formally introduced last year, The CW’s Arrow and The Flash are going to join forces this coming December in a multi-show crossover that sees Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen in a partnership with Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen.
Both heroes—one an expert marksman and the other the fastest man alive—are friends and share the same goal of trying to make a difference and protecting their cities and those they care about the most. However, the crossover will test their resolve as their first encounter with the Rainbow Raider in The Flash episode called “Flash Vs Arrow” sees their partnership tested. Barry is infected by the Raider and goes out of control, forcing Oliver to confront his friend before he causes more harm than good.

Following that crossover appearance, The Flash will guest next in the Arrow Season 3 episode titled “The Brave and the Bold”, which is a throwback and nod to the same DC Comics comic of the same name that sees two superheroes from the DC Universe team-up together. After a new villain named Digger Harkness (aka Captain Boomerang) appears and starts terrorizing Starling City, The Arrow enlists the aid of The Flash and his allies to put a stop to the villain before he kills anyone else. With bombs planted throughout the metropolis, Team Arrow and Team Flash race against time to stop Harkness and save the city.
To promote the epic crossover, Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin had a shoot together as Arrow and The Flash for this month’s issue of TV Guide, which can be purchased at bookstores and magazine outlets. In fact, the duo were even interviewed and teased what’s to come with their team-up next month!
The Flash airs every Tuesday, while Arrow airs Wednesdays in The CW. On local television, The Flash is on every Wednesday, while Arrow airs every Thursday on Jack TV. — TJD, GMA News
