WATCH: Android smartwatch runs Windows 95, Doom, Minecraft

First, the good news: you can run Microsoft's 20-year-old desktop operating system Windows 95 on an "Android Wear" smartwatch.

An owner of a Samsung Gear smartwatch managed to install a copy of Windows 95 on his watch using an emulator software.

Corbin Davenport demonstrated in a YouTube video the Windows 95 system running on his smartwatch.

Tapping and dragging on the tiny touchscreen can move the mouse and activate the Start menu.

Now, the bad news: Windows 95 is quite poky even on hardware created 20 years after it. And there's not much one can run.

This is despite Windows 95 being able to run on 4 MB system RAM, and the having 512 MB of it.

"Windows 95 seems to run out of RAM after opening any applications. I'm unable to add more RAM because this port of DOSbox doesnt have an accessible config file," Davenport said.

Despite this, SmartWatchAppCenter said it is "nice to see the Windows 95 come alive again on the next generation device."

"So far it is just a demonstration, it shows how far our technology has advance(d) in terms of hardware and software," it added.

Doom, Minecraft too

But Windows 95 isn't the only 1990s software Davenport had also ported to his Android smartwatch.

Davenport also ported the first-person shooter "Doom" on the smartwatch:

But he said the game had been removed from Google Play over copyright issued.

Davenport also demonstrated a successfully ported version of "Minecraft:"
