Microsoft pulls out BSOD-causing kernel update

Microsoft has pulled out one of the software patches it issued in last week's Patch Tuesday, after noting it could potentially trigger a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), essentially making the Windows operating system unusable.
In a security bulletin, Microsoft said it is investigating an issue where systems could crash with a stop error message of 0x50, meaning a bug check.
"This condition may be persistent and may prevent the system from starting correctly," it said.
Microsoft outlined a temporary workaround in the bulletin for the moment.
A separate article on Sophos.com's Naked Security blog said the BSoD could have stemmed from incorrect handling of the Windows font cache file. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
