Phantasy Star Online 2 now available in PHL
Good news for Filipino players of "Phantasy Star Online 2" - the game is now available in English, as Asiasoft Corp. Public Co. Ltd. officially started the game's English service.
The English service, which started Thursday, will service gamers in the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
Asiasoft allowed early access into the server on Tuesday for gamers who activated their beta keys before Wednesday.
Before the English service, Asiasoft launched the game's Thai language service May 22.
Developed by SEGA, "Phantasy Star Online 2" is a free-to-play MMOARPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Action Role-Playing Game) for Windows PC which debuted in Japan in 2012.
"Together with Asiasoft, we are excited to bringing Phantasy Star Online 2 to Southeast Asian gamers ... This partnership with Asiasoft is in line with SEGA's strategy to introduce Phantasy Star franchise to new generation of gamers, as well as to expand our online gaming portfolio internationally," said Yukio Sugino, Managing Director of SEGA Corporation.
Quach Dong Quang, Regional Product Director (RPG/Casual) of Asiasoft, added "Phantasy Star Online 2" was developed by SEGA from ground up as a free-to-play MMOARPG - a popular genre in the region.
"Asiasoft's main objective is to provide the best online entertainment product and services to people in Southeast Asia and we believe that Phantasy Star Online 2 is a top-level game title that will be loved by gamers here," Quang added.
"Phantasy Star," which has a colorful 20-year history, has been one of SEGA's most revolutionary gaming franchises.
Its first online version, "Phantasy Star Online," saw success since it was released after 2000 for SEGA Dreamcast and PC.
Launch
Asiasoft is kicking off the launch of "Phantasy Star Online 2" with activities on its Facebook community page at facebook.com/playpso2.ph.
