Hackers play with DOJ website

Hackers broke into the website of the Department of Justice Tuesday night, redirecting visitors to a website with a message on "corruption."

Visitors to the DOJ site would get a glimpse of the normal home page but the page will quickly redirect to a different site.

"Don't Steal... The Government Hates Competition," read the message on the site, along with a big smiling face.

Shortly after the page loads, the theme song from the children's program "Barney" would play.

The hackers claimed they were members of PrivateX, which had claimed responsibility for past attacks on other government websites.

PrivateX, which claims to be allied with the hacker collective Anonymous, posted a message on the site.

"You've expected us. We now expect you. United as One, Divided by None," it said.

The hacking came the same day the Senate as an impeachment court convicted Chief Justice Renato Corona for not fully disclosing the extent of his assets in his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth.

However, it was not immediately clear if the attack on the DOJ website was connected with the impeachment trial. —VS, GMA News
