PH, Poland Ink Agreement on Peaceful Space Exploration
The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) and the Polish Space Agency (POLSA) have signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to promote cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space.
The MOA was signed on December 5 by PhilSA Director General Joel Joseph Marciano Jr. and POLSA Vice President Micha? Wierci?ski.
“PhilSA is especially grateful for this opportunity to collaborate with Poland, as we are confident that together we can push the boundaries of knowledge and innovation. This cooperation is not just a means to an end; it is a vital tool that enables us to achieve shared goals,” Marciano said in a statement issued on Monday, December 16.
The agreement covers several key areas of collaboration, including:
- Earth observation and remote sensing,
- Space science and the exploration of outer space,
- Promotion of the space industry, and
- Space education through academic activities focusing on space science and technology applications.
This is not the first international collaboration for PhilSA. In April 2023, PhilSA also signed an agreement with Argentina’s National Commission on Space Activities (CONAE) as part of the commemoration of the 75th year of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Argentina. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
