This robot fish can 'eat' microplastics in seas

A robot fish has been developed in China to address microplastic pollution in the world's oceans.

The fish is only 1.3 cm long, but it can suck plastics 52,000 times heavier than it is as it swims through bodies of water.

It is capable of self-healing when it gets damaged and it is not harmful should it be ingested by real fish.

Researchers think it can still be developed to enter the human body to deal with materials that can cause illnesses.

Scientists said microplastics are not just found in the oceans, but everywhere—in the air and even inside the human body.

In March, microplastics were found in blood for the first time and detected in organs such as lungs, spleen, and kidneys.
