Seven volcanic earthquakes recorded in Mayon Volcano in 24 hours
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) on Sunday said seven volcanic earthquakes were recorded in Mayon Volcano in the past 24 hours.
The volcano also emitted white-steam laden plumes that first crept downward before drifting north.
PHIVOLCS said the volcano's sulfur dioxide emission was at an average of 676 tonnes/day on Dec. 29, 2020.

The agency reminded the public that Alert Level 1 remains in effect over Mayon Volcano.
PHIVOLCS strongly advised the public not to enter the six-kilometer radius permanent danger zone around the volcano due to threats of rockfalls, landslides, avalanches, ash puffs and steam-driven or phreatic eruptions. —KG, GMA News
