Green sea turtle with fishing line stuck on it rescued in Davao Oriental


Residents rescued a juvenile green sea turtle found to have a fishing line still stuck to its body in Mati City, Davao Oriental on Saturday morning.

The turtle was found on Dahican Beach in a weak state.

Residents informed a group taking care of pawikan about the turtle.

Rescuers removed the fishing line, which was found to be almost two meters long, slowly and carefully.

They also took care of the other wounds found on the turtle's body.

The green sea turtle will be released back into the sea on Sunday after it has been marked and declared healthy enough to go into the waters.
