Phreatic eruptions observed from Mayon Volcano
At least three events of phreatic eruptions were observed from Mayon Volcano, according to a report on Unang Balita on Wednesday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that before the eruptions occurred, two mild quakes were felt near the volcano.
An ash column that was at least one kilometer in height was observed.
Alert Level 2 was raised at the area around the volcano, which means that moderate level of unrest or mild eruptions in the area are expected.
The public was also reminded that a six-kilometer permanent danger zone is still in effect in the area.
