National Scientist Bienvenido Juliano dies at 81


National Scientist Bienvenido Juliano, who gained international recognition for his works in organic chemistry, died at the age of 81.

According to a report on News TV Live, the National Academy of Science and Technology confirmed Juliano's passing on Friday.

With his expertise in organic chemistry, Juliano's contributions to rice production in the country have been acclaimed internationally.

He also authored and co-authored over 370 scientific papers on rice chemistry.

Necrological services for Juliano will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the St. Therese of the Child Jesus Chapel in Los Baños, Laguna. —Margaret Claire Layug/KG, GMA News
