'Unicorn clouds' seen in Pagadian City goes viral

The Facebook post by a resident of Pagadian City showing clouds surrounded by a rainbow—in a phenomenon called "cloud iridescence"—has gone viral.

YouScooper Anne Elle Salikala posted a short video clip and photos with the caption "The unicorn is here" last Sunday afternoon—an apparent reference to the myth of unicorns appearing when a rainbow is visible.

Such "cloud iridescence" happens when tiny frozen water droplets in the clouds are hit by sunlight at just the right angle to form a rainbow of colors.

Other occurrences have been reported around the world.
