NASA releases ultra-HD video of the sun

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center has released a 30 minute video of the sun in ultra-HD resolution (4K).

The images of the sun used to create the video were taken by the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) every 12 seconds. SDO images the sun in 10 wavelengths of ultraviolet light which helps distinguish different temperatures. One minute of video requires 10 hours of work from a team of media specialists.
