NASA captures video of solar eruption
By BEA MONTENEGRO, GMA News
NASA’s official Twitter account shared a video caught by their Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) on 18 June: an eruption on the sun “escaped” and grew into a coronal mass ejection. According to a Tweet by @NASASunEarth, the SDO was around 93 million miles away from the sun when it recorded the video.
NASA said that the video has been sped up—the actual eruption happened over the course of 4 hours.

This video is an example of a coronal mass ejection, a phenomenon where a cloud of solar material hurtles out into space. (http://www.nasa.gov/content/goddard/the-difference-between-flares-and-cmes) — TJD, GMA News
