'It's Showtime' brings Dolphy, Babalu, Redford White back on screen thanks to AI

Who could forget iconic Filipino comedians Dolphy, Babalu, and Redford White?

"It's Showtime" just brought them back on screen thanks to artificial intelligence (AI) during its "Sikat Magpasikat" segment on Monday.

Vhong Navarro, Teddy Corpuz, and Jugs Jugueta transformed into the late comedy legends while singing on stage.

Aside from Dolphy, Babalu, and Redforward White, they also paid tribute to Bert "Tawa" Marcelo, Miss Tapia, Tiya Pusit, Yoyoy Villame, Willie Nepomuceno, Rene Requiestas, Kuya Germs, and more.

According to Vhong, their group got permission from the late comedians' families to use their images. But they also warned the public that there is responsibility that comes with the use of AI.

"Ang paggamit po ng AI dapat ginagamit po sa tama, hindi po sa panloloko," Vhong said.

Meanwhile, veteran actress Nova Villa could not help but become emotional after seeing her late colleagues.

"Kaibigan ko lahat 'yun. Nakasama ko lahat 'yun lalo na si Tito Dolphy," she said.
