Which came first, chicken or egg? Kuya Kim explains
Ever heard the question, “which came first, the chicken or the egg?” and found no answer?
According to Kuya Kim on Thursday’s “24 Oras,” amniotic eggs were first discovered 340 million years ago, while chickens evolved 58,000 years ago. This means eggs came to the world first.
However, whether chicken eggs or the animal itself came first is still being debated.
Meanwhile, Kuya Kim said chicken eggshells varied depending on the breed. Native ones are brown while commercial ones are white, and these can also come in blue, green, and pink.
The biggest egg in the world is that of an ostrich. The ostrich’s egg can grow up to 20 centimeters in height and 15 centimeters in width, and weigh over 2.5 kilograms—almost 20 times larger than a chicken’s egg. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
