Supermoon lights up the world’s night sky
The supermoon lit up the night sky in different parts of the world on Tuesday.
According to “24 Oras” on Wednesday, the supermoon was seen all over the world, even though the sky was cloudy in some parts of the Philippines.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), it had a perigee distance of 357,378 kilometers away from the Earth.

“The closest that the Moon comes to the Earth in its elliptic orbit, resulting in a slightly larger-than-usual apparent size of the lunar disk as viewed from Earth,” it said.
NASA said it was also called the pink supermoon, named after the flax flower in America that bloomed during spring.
A super flower moon is expected to appear on May 26. According to a Forbes report, it will be visible only in the western half of North America and Asia for 15 minutes. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
