Interactive ‘Dino Play’ exhibit gives kids a chance to be archeologists
The newest moving exhibit of Mind Museum gives its patrons a 230 million year-old throwback as it showcases fragments from the time of dinosaurs—including fossilized poop.
Located at the museum's Canopy Plaza, "Dino Play" features four stations where kids and kids-at-heart feel like paleontologist as they dig, dust, and examine dinosaur remains.
The first station, Dino Dig, gives kids a chance to get their hands dirty as they use shovels and brushes to uncover the remains of a Velociraptor and a Protoceratops. Fret not, the "fossils" buried in the sands are replicas and not highly valuable artifacts.
For those looking for the real deal, fossilized remains such as bones and coprolites—the ancient way to say fecal matter—are on display at the Dino Lab station.
Dinosaur fossils have not been found in the Philippines, perhaps due to the fact that the country did not exist as the archipelago we live in now when dinosaurs roamed the earth, but for budding archeologists, Dino Play is recommended interactive way to get acquainted with the science. — AT, GMA News
The Dino Play runs for a limited time at the Canopy Plaza, The Mind Museum, JY Campos Park, 3rd Avenue, Bonifacio Global City. Tickets are avalable through the museum's official website.
