Young fashion blogger meets celebrity stylist Liz Uy through 'Wish Ko Lang!'

Fashion blogging is a rising trend on the web, and it has propelled several people into Internet stardom. Several fashion bloggers are now considered celebrities because of their “outift of the day” blog posts and updates on fashion events and trends. 

 

Fourteen-year-old fashion blogger Aaron Castro, who posts mixed and matched outfits on his blog “Aaron Did Fashion,” has had his taste of Internet stardom. But his first taste of the limelight was not sweet.

 

Netizens initially made fun of Aaron’s blog, and the hashtag #TeamAaron even trended on Twitter Philippines because of the many criticisms posted about Aaron and his blog entries.

 

“Ano ba yan, ang cheap tingnan,” one Twitter user said about his clothes.

 

Aaron, however, took it as constructive criticism and said he does not mind the negative feedback. “It’s okay,” he said. “At least my blog made them happy. But their criticism made me a stronger person.” 

 

His drive and positive attitude landed him on the GMA-7 program “Wish Ko Lang!,” where he participated in a photo shoot with some highly-regarded names in the fashion industry: fashion photographer Enzo Mondejar and stylist Eric Poliquit. Mondejar encouraged Aaron to prove his detractors wrong and to do the best in everything he does.

 

The young fashionista wished for new clothes and shoes, which the program granted. But it did not stop there – “Wish Ko Lang!” granted Aaron’s ultimate wish, which is to meet his idol, celebrity stylist Liz Uy.

 

Liz, who is also an editor for several fashion and lifestyle magazines, spent time teaching Aaron different poses that he can do in front of the camera.
