Pasig Representative Roman Romulo and wife Shalani Soledad on Powerhouse

This Tuesday on Powerhouse, Kara David meets Pasig Representative Roman Romulo and wife Shalani Soledad.

The couple proudly shows us their simple residence in Pasig City, a two-storey house owned by Roman's parents and where Roman grew up. Roman and Shalani moved into this house after getting married last January 22, 2012.

Roman is the son of former Foreign Secretary Alberto Romulo. He entered politics some years ago and is now on his last term as congressman. He was a practicing lawyer before he ran for congress.

Shalani Soledad rose to fame when she became the girlfriend of President Noynoy Aquino in 2008. She was then a councilor of Valenzuela City. When she broke up with PNoy in 2010, Shalani joined Show Business by becoming a TV Host. She ran for congress in 2013 but lost. She now considers herself freelance, which she jokes is a better label for unemployed.

Very much still newlyweds, Roman and Shalani always find a reason to touch each other lovingly during the interview. They recount how they fell in love and deny that their's is a marriage of convenience to boost each other's political career. Roman and Shalani reveal their plans and dreams as a couple and share that they are looking forward to finally becoming a complete family. With Shalani currently free from showbiz commitments, the couple says they are trying to have a baby.
