Origins at ang iba't ibang uri ng pancit, alamin sa 'Pinas Sarap'

For wealth and long life! Ito ang isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit tayong mga Pilipino madalas maghain at kumain ng pansit tuwing may okasyon gaya ng birthday o bagong taon. Pero alam niyo ba na ang paniniwalang ito ay impluwensiya sa atin ng mga Tsino? Ngayong Huwebes, espesyal ang ang ating foodtrip sa Pinas Sarap. Samahan si Kara David magtungo sa bansang pinagmulan ng Pansit, ang China!



Susuyurin ni Kara ang Xiamen City sa Fujian Province, para tikman ang iba’t ibang authentic Chinese pansit gaya ng Sha Cha Mian, isang noodle soup na ginagamitan ng peanut sauce, at chao guo tiao o rice cake stir fried noodles. Pero meron ding Chinese pansit na nahahawig sa mga Pinoy favorites gaya ng Chao mi fen na tila bihon guisado, at ang Lu mien na nahahawig naman sa canton guisado. Perfect naman sa mga vegetarian ang ibinibidang pansit sa isang kainan sa naputuo temple, ang putuo fensu na walang halong anumang karne.



Sa Gulangyu Island, tila performing art ang paggawa ng noodles. Sinasabayan kasi ng maindayog na paggalaw at malakas na sigaw ang paggawa ng Pansit sa suan la fen o spicy and sour noodles. Susubukan naman ni Kara ang sining ng noodle hand pulling para gumawa ng sariling noodle na ginagamit sa La Mian.

For wealth and long life, this are some of the reasons why we Filipinos serve pancit or noodles every occasion like birthday or New Year. But do you know that this belief is influenced by Chinese? This Thursday, Pinas Sarap has a special foodtrip. Join Kara David in exploring the place where noodles is originated, in China!

Kara David will visit Xiamen City in Fujian Province in China, to try out different authentic Chinese noodles like Sha Cha Mian, a noodle soup with peanut sauce, and chao guo tiao or rice cake stir fried noodles. There are also noodle dishes similar to Pinoy Favourites like Chao mi fen that is bihon guisado-like, and Lu mien that is similar to canton guisado. Putuo fensu is a noodle dish that is served in Nanputuo temple that is perfect for vegetarians.  

In Gulangyu Island, making noodles is like performing arts. The maker shouts chant while doing movement like dance as he makes suan la fen or spicy and sour noodles. Kara will also try the art of noodle hand pulling to make noodles used in La Mian.
