Since 1999, Filipinos have yet to see one of their own, places in the prestigious Ms. Universe beauty pageant. That is why in the recently concluded tilt, the whole country rejoiced with the Fourth Runner-Up victory of Venus Raj. Her controversial answer in the Q&A portion proved to be a hot topic worldwide, even outshining the popularity of pageant’s winner, Ms. Mexico . In spite of the bashing and criticisms the Filipina had to go through, in the end, she was warmly welcomed home by her fellow Filipinos who are major, major proud of her!
