'Batang Entrepinoy,' dokumentaryo ni Sandra Aguinaldo, ngayong Sabado sa 'I-Witness'
“BATANG ENTREPINOY”
Dokumentaryo ni Sandra Aguinaldo
June 27, 2015
English version:
Six warehouses containing 1 million items. 400 employees in a span of 3 years. It's a business run by a 31 year-old.
A manufacturer of cellphones, tablets, power banks and other gadgets and a concept store selling 5,000 vinyl records---owned by a 30 year-old.
It seems that in the Philippines, more young people are taking a risk at starting a business. Paulo Campos III, finished Public and International Affairs from Princeton University and took his Masters in Business Administration at Harvard University. He established Zalora Philippines when he was only 28 years old. Now, it is the largest online fashion retailer in the country.
Online retailing is a complicated business and inside the Zalora office, they have their own photo studio, with six in-house photographers, two in-house models and a call center with 60 agents. Though Zalora Group is a conglomerate from different countries, in 2014, they posted an impressive 140 million Euros in profit or an equivalent of 6 billion pesos.
Eric Chua on the other hand, is a graduate of Economics from Ateneo de Manila University. He initially wanted to become a doctor for his mother who was afflicted with cancer. When his mother passed away, Edric went back to the Philippines to help his father with the family business. After a few years, he ventured out on his own and is now the boss of two companies.
What is the secret to success of these young entrepreneurs? Sandra Aguinaldo finds out, this Saturday on I-Witness. I-Witness airs on GMA 7, after Celebrity Bluff.
