Paano na lang ang mga selfie at groufie kung hindi picture perfect ang mga ngiti ni Juan? Katunayan, tinatayang pitong milyong Pilipino ang hindi raw nakaugalian na magpunta ng dentista. Kaya ang resulta ---  pagkabungi!

Gaya na lang ni Angelica, labindalawang taong gulang pa lang daw siya nang magsimulang mabungi nang dahil sa pagkahilig sa tsokolate at kendi. Pero hindi raw kay Angelica nagsimula ang sumpa. Dahil maging ang kanyang ina at lola, nabungi rin sa maagang edad. I Juander, puwede nga bang mamana ang pagkabungi? O dahil lang ito sa kapabayaan?

Ang palaging bilin ng dentist, regular na magsipilyo. Pero paano kung ang isang buong pamilya, naghahati sa iisang sipilyo? Gaya na lang sa kaso ng mag-asawang Emelita at Rogelio, pati na ang kanilang anak na si Romey. Hindi lang daw pagkain ang kanilang pinagsasaluhan kundi pati ang iisang sipilyo dahil daw sa hirap ng buhay. Kaya imbis na makalinis ng ngipin, tila nagdulot pa ito ng impeksyon sa pamilya.

Pero noong sinaunang panahon, noong hindi pa uso ang toothbrush at toothpaste, paano nga ba nililinis ng mga katutubo ang kanilang mga ngipin? At hindi pala sa dentista nagpupunta ang mga sinaunang Juan para magpabunot ng ngipin, kundi sa mga barber.

Selfie and groufie will not be picture perfect if Juan does not have a winning smile. In fact, approximately seven million Filipinos do not visit the dentist, which results to many Juans suffering from tooth decay.

Like in the case of Angelica, she was only twelve years old when her teeth started to fall off, this was most likely because of her fondness of chocolate and candies. But this condition did not only start with Angelica, even her mother and grandmother lost their teeth at an early age. I Juander, can having missing tooth hereditary? Or is this because of negligence?

The dentist always reminds people to brush their teeth. But there is a family that brushes their teeth, but sharing only one toothbrush. Emelita, Rogelio and their son Romey share one toothbrush to save money. But instead of a clean mouth, according to the dentist, this might even cause infection.

In the olden times, when toothbrush and toothpaste was still not used, how do indigenous people clean their teeth? And when there was no dentist then, they go to the barber shop to have their tooth extracted.
