‘Sticky frog’ and ‘deadly stingray’ on ‘Born to be Wild’

BORN TO BE WILD
March 15, 2020

Doc Nielsen and his team are looking for a frog that emits a sticky substance to defend itself from predators. But to see this “sticky frog”, as it is commonly called, one need not look too deep into the forest. This fascinating animal is right inside the UP Mindanao campus along with other wildlife. The amazing relationship between the campus community and their local wildlife is documented by the Born team. Meet the sticky frog and other wild residents in the city!

These animals may be shy-looking but they possess deadly stings. Doc Ferds and his underwater film crew observe the behavior of a sting ray and how it deftly catches its prey. Into their dive, the team also documents the deadly box jelly fish as it glides underwater. Now that summer approaches, what should you do if you meet these underwater stingers?

School may soon be over but learning never stops. Catch these wildlife stories on Born to be Wild, Sunday after AHA!
