Pythons in captivity on ‘Born to be Wild’

BORN TO BE WILD
February 16, 2020

For many animals in the wild, looking for food is no walk in the park. It can be a struggle to dig holes in the ground in the attempt to trap one’s prey. Different species work hard to put food on their “plate”. Observe how a scorpion tries to capture a millipede for breakfast and how one beetle eats scale insects.

In Bohol, snakes that were once kept as pets have ended up in a facility after their caretakers could no longer handle them. Because the snakes are in captivity, various health problems arise. Doc Nielsen treats a snake with a cataract and a reticulated python infested by parasites.

On the road to cover a different story, the Born team encounters a monitor lizard that was a victim of hit-and-run. The team must now work against the clock to save the animal.

Catch these wildlife stories on Born to be Wild this Sunday morning after AHA!
