BORN TO BE WILD
February 2, 2020

A farmer seeks help from the Born team to treat his carabao, Keri, who is suffering from a swollen eye. Keri is a big help to the farmer’s livelihood so its health is of prime importance. Doc Ferds treats Keri and discovers that parasites have made the eye wound much worse. Animals infected by parasites face a serious health problem since parasites can damage the immune system of its host.  Will Keri’s eye go back to normal?

Lila, Bohol is slowly becoming a popular tourist destination because of the tuki-tuki or whale shark sightings. Tourists say they are friendly and even approach the boats. But conservationists are concerned about the way whale sharks are lured towards the tourists; boatmen supposedly feed them in order to attract them. Doc Nielsen visits the area to observe and meet the biggest fish on earth.

To help more animals affected by the Taal Volcano eruption, Doc Ferds and Doc Nielsen return to Tagaytay City and Volcano Island to respond to animals in need. Doc Nielsen finds that many horses used in tourism are dehydrated and suffer from conjunctivitis due to the ashfall. With the help of local vets, more than fifty horses are treated. In Volcano Island, Doc Ferds discovers that some fishermen have tried to return to their livelihood despite prohibitions from authorities.
