Reticulated python and monitor lizard on ‘Born to be Wild’

BORN TO BE WILD
December 8, 2019

Reptiles are nature’s survivors. They are some of the oldest living creatures, having roamed the earth for many centuries. But these apex predators at times become powerless when they find themselves in human settlements.

In Paranaque City, Doc Ferds helps in turning over a large monitor lizard which was kept as a pet for more than a year. Because of its size, the monitor lizard was named "Godzilla". Godzilla was placed in a cage and had no other activities but to eat. The lizard’s movements became very limited as the cage became too small for it.

Doc Nielsen responds to a barangay in Caloocan City where a reticulated python was seen lodged inside a resident's ceiling. Homeowners have observed that the python has been staying in their house for quite some time as they wound hear strange sounds at night. Afraid that they might hurt the snake or that the animal might hurt itself out of fear, they sent a message to the Born team to ask for help.

It's a Sundate with your favorite vets this week on Born to be Wild, right after AHA!
