Civet cats on ‘Born to be Wild’
BORN TO BE WILD
May 5, 2019
Civet cats are among the most difficult creatures to film in the wild. Aside from being nocturnal or active at night, civets are very elusive. They run and hide fast when predators are around.
In Palawan, Doc Nielsen searches for the civet in the wild forests of Puerto Princesa. The sun has set and the forest is covered in darkness. And what the team sees are traces that prove civets are around: civet droppings!
Meanwhile in Palo, Leyte, Doc Ferds meets a juvenile civet cat that was born in a rescue center. Both parents of the baby civet were rescued from poachers. Because of their injuries, the mother and father civets remained in the center until the baby was born.
