Palawan stink badger and Philippine Samar cobra on 'Born to be Wild'
BORN TO BE WILD
Line-up for March 24, 2019
In Candijay, Bohol, Doc Ferds meets Jonic, the local go-to guy called upon when snakes accidentally enter homes. Jonic shows the team a recently turned-over Samar cobra. Together with the DENR, the snake is released back into the wild. While filming, the team receives a report that a child in a nearby town was bitten by a snake and was hospitalized. Doc Ferds travels to the town to find out what happened.
Meanwhile, in Palawan, Doc Nielsen encounters a Palawan stink badger, known locally as pantot. This animal has the ability to emit a foul smell to protect itself from predators. Because of this, the pantot is not a popular target for the illegal pet trade, yet it faces another threat: becoming road kill.
