Tarsiers of Bohol on 'Born to be Wild'

BORN TO BE WILD

Line-up for March 17, 2019

Bohol is popular to many tourists because of the Chocolate Hills, and the endemic tarsiers.

Doc Ferds has met this primate several times in the past, but is usually inside a semi-wild sanctuary.

This time, he travelled to Anda, Bohol to search for tarsiers in the wild.  Doc Ferds treks into the forest to observe the behaviour of the tarsier in its natural environment.

A Philippine Talking Mynah which was transported to Palawan after it was turned over in a Sanctuary in Laguna. It was supposed to be released back in the wild, but there was a major concern. Mynas are known to have the ability to mimic the sounds in its environment, and when kept as pets, it can copy the voice of humans.  The myna that was captured can now say "Kumain ka na?" or "Goodmorning"?  This behaviour is dangerous to be released into the forest as other Mynah birds may interpret the "human sounds" as bird calls and will mimic it as well.
