'Born to be Wild'

A rescued Palawan leopard cat is set to return to its natural habitat

BORN TO BE WILD
Line-up for March 10, 2019

Doc Ferds and the team comes back to Bohol to document the flying lemurs or kagwang. The guides say that mother and baby flying lemurs are seen this season, and the team is lucky to observe how a mother kagwang takes care of its young. Contrary to its name, flying lemurs are not actually "flying" like birds but are gliding and can transfer from one tree to another. The team was able to capture how they glide.

From Manila, a leopard cat is transported to Palawan to be released back to its natural habitat.  The leopard cat was a former pet turned over to a rescue center. But not all leopard cats are successfully repatriated into the wild as they are prone to stress.  Doc Nielsen personally makes sure it is healthy to travel as he examines the animal. According to Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center, this is the first time that a leopard cat transported in-flight will be released in the wild.
