In a country where experts say 80% of the sea is overfished, some sanctuaries for marine life remain. This year, a Chinese fishing vessel caught off the shores of Palawan made headlines. Inside the vessel were hundreds of sea turtles that were illegally poached. In Apo Reef, rangers describe similar threats to marine species. And Doc Ferds witnesses the locals’ efforts to protect this piece of marine paradise.
