This Sunday on 'Born Impact': Wildlife rescues in the city
“WILD CITY”
What a delight it would be to come across a foraging monitor lizard while you are in the forest, or to witness a community of monkeys traversing from tree to tree. But what if you wake up one day in your house and find wildlife in your kitchen? Or in your bathroom?
Doc Ferds Recio and Doc Nielsen Donato go to different cities in the country to rescue wildlife in human habitation.
In Manila, a case of an abused monkey was reported to the Born team. The monkey was said to be kept on a sidewalk, where passersby usually make fun of it by poking it with sharp objects. Doc Ferds goes to the area to rescue the monkey, and the furious monkey fights back, refusing to be restrained.
Meanwhile, Doc Nielsen learns of a monitor lizard in a backyard in Valenzuela City. The owner does not know what to do. Doc Nielsen goes to the rescue, and he checks if the animal is healthy, and if it is still possible to release it back o the wild.
But what do you do when a venomous snake invades your home? In Davao City, a king cobra was reportedly caught in a backyard. King cobras are known for their fierceness, and chasing their victims.
