'Born to be Wild' presents: Vets on Call
BORN TO BE WILD
“VETS ON CALL”
All-new series starts Wednesday, May 15
They’re known as wildlife veterinarians who climb mountains and cross rivers to document and treat wild animals in need. But did you know that outside the wild, our vets have a day job too?
Being a vet is a 24/7 job, whether in the wild or in the city. Day in and day out, Doc Ferds Recio and Doc Nielsen Donato respond to various cases in the veterinary clinics where they practice animal medicine.
This Wednesday, Doc Ferds is presented with an emergency case – a dog has had a still birth and is in labor when it is brought to the clinic. Doc Ferds races against time to save the remaining pup inside its mother’s womb. With the consent of the family, Doc Ferds begins surgery on the animal. But will mother and pup make it?
Meanwhile, Doc Nielsen Donato treats another pet dog that also needs surgery. With stones in its urinary tract, the animal can lose its life from infection. Doc Nielsen puts the animal under the knife to save its life.
