Wild Rescue
Dr. Ferdinand Recio has been a veterinarian for 13 years, Dr. Nielsen Donato, 21 years. And these two hosts of Born to be Wild have been on countless wildlife rescues all over the Philippines.

For its fourth episode, BORN IMPACT: Born to be Wild Weekend Edition, will showcase the vets’ heart-stopping wildlife rescues.

“Of course bilang isang beterinaryo, masarap na feeling ‘yung maka-save ka ng animals. You feel like you made a difference.” Doc Ferds deals with a large python lost in the urban city, a tiger limping on his one leg, and furious monkeys needing rescue.

Doc Nielsen, on the other hand, treats wounded new species of monitor lizards, a crocodile with a deformed snout and a wild carabao on the loose.

“Nakakakaba din gumamot ng mga wild animals kasi unpredictable ang mga galaw nila.  It’s very important to handle them correctly,” says Doc Nielsen.

Human encroachment in wildlife habitats and the illegal pet trade are just some of the reasons why humans and wildlife collide.

And while love of wildlife prompts some people to pet them, the two hosts will also teach us how we can avoid having more and more wildlife needing rescue.

Make your own promise to act.
