"FOOD!"

Episode on May 12, 2010 Wednesday after Saksi! “Food" Nature gives life. And everyday, it nourishes us with one of the most essential needs to survive – food. This Wednesday, Doc Ferds Recio and Kiko Rustia cook up a special presentation that will showcase the connections between food and the environment. From our morning coffee to the fish and vegetables that make up our dinner plate, nature provides practically all the sustenance each person will need in his lifetime. But with population on the rise and natural resources diminishing, will there be enough to sustain everyone’s needs? Over harvesting, depletion of oceans and forests, and wastage contribute to food scarcity which is predicted by experts to happen within this generation. And although “endangered" is a word commonly associated with animals, food such as fruits and greens are also already on the list of species in danger of extinction. Born to be Wild returns to its Wednesday time slot beginning May 12, after Saksi.
