December 17, 2022 4:39pm

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) monitored a total of 45,721 outbound passengers and 35,554 inbound passengers in all ports nationwide on Saturday.

In an advisory, the Coast Guard said around 2,108 frontline personnel in 15 PCG districts were deployed.

The PCG said they inspected a total of 425 vessels and 680 motorbancas.

Meanwhile, all Coast Guard districts, stations, and sub-stations are on "heightened alert" to manage the influx of port passengers from December 15, 2022, to January 7, 2023.

Passengers were advised to coordinate with the PCG through its official Facebook page or the Coast Guard Public Affairs (0927-560-7729) for inquiries, concerns, and clarifications regarding sea travel protocols and regulations during the Yuletide season. — Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA Integrated News
