US Navy civilian employee with Filipino roots celebrates 25 years in service

Jerry V. Behimino, a US Navy civilian employee with Filipino family ties, was recently recognized for completing 25 years of government service while working with Commander, Naval Forces Japan/Commander, Navy Region Japan (CNFJ/CNRJ).

According to a Navy Office of Community Outreach press release, Behimo's wife is from South Cotabato's Koronadal City, while his parents are from Victorias, Negros Occidental and Sara, Iloilo.

"I feel immensely honored to have received this award," said Behimino.

Behimino works as a supervisory information technology specialist and is responsible for bilateral systems and communications and network management, spectrum management, and integrating IT solutions and support services.

CNFJ/CNRJ provides shore readiness to the Fleet, liaises with the Japanese government, and strengthens ties with the Japan Self-Defense Forces.

CNRJ is responsible for the Navy installations in Atsugi, Misawa, Okinawa, Sasebo, Yokosuka, Diego Garcia, and Singapore.

In 2020, Behimino earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Excelsior University.
