8-year old Pinoy wins 3 silver medals at ASEAN chess competition

An eight-year old Filipino girl bagged three silver medals during the 20th ASEAN Age Group Chess Championship in Myanmar, according to a report on GMA News’ Unang Balita on Monday.

Last week, Daniela Bianca Cruz of Malolos, Bulacan won silver medals in three categories of the ASEAN chess competition held in Mandalay, Myanmar.

The eight-year old chess player vowed, “Mas gagalingan ko po maglaro (ng) chess.”

Dela Cruz started playing chess at the age of two and first joined a chess competition at the age of five, her father said. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA News
