Pre-voting enrollment for registered overseas Pinoys in US starts
SAN DIEGO, California - The pre-voting enrollment began on Saturday, March 22, for the first online voting for registered Filipino overseas voters in the United States for the Philippine national and midterm elections in May.
Over 1.2 million Filipinos overseas have registered to be voters, including those in North and Latin America, according to the National Registry of Overseas Voters.
According to New York Consul General Senen Mangalile, registration for online voting is closed, so only those who have registered can vote via the internet.
“Pre-voting enrollment for online voting in the 2025 National Elections is available only to those who are already registered as overseas voters. This is not open to those who did not register during the registration period," Mangalile said.
There are 31,866 recorded registered voters in the jurisdiction of the New York Consulate.
“The Consulate encourages all overseas voters in its jurisdiction to take advantage of the convenience offered by online voting, which they can experience by pre-enrolling themselves using the link provided. Let us be part of history as voters in the first online voting in the Philippines,” Mangalile told GMA Integrated News in a message
In Hawaii, 7,881 registered voters are expected to vote via the internet.
According to Consul General of Hawaii Arman Talbo, the new process for overseas voters is easy and very accessible.
“This is a significant milestone in making the voting process more accessible and secure for overseas Filipinos. We strongly urge the 7,881 registered voters under our jurisdiction in Hawaii and American Samoa to complete their pre-voting enrollment through the link https://ov.comelec.gov.ph/enroll,” Talbo said.
As part of the preparation, the Consulate in Hawaii will hold a town hall meeting with the Filipino community to explain the new online voting process.
“To assist our kababayan, the Consulate will hold town hall meetings on March 29 and April 5, 2025, and will continue working closely with Filipino community organizations and local media to ensure widespread information dissemination. Let us make our voices heard. Your vote matters—wherever you are in the world,” Talbo told GMA Integrated News in a message.
Pre-voting enrollment will be accessible until May 7, 2025. Registered overseas voters may visit https://ov.comelec.gov.ph/enroll to take part. —KG, GMA Integrated News
