543K OFWs served at NAIA terminal lounges — OWWA

The number of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) served in the 24/7 free lounge at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) exclusively for the modern-day heroes has reached more than half a million, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said. 

According to the OWWA, 543,000 OFWs have so far been able to use the OFW lounges at NAIA Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. 

The agency said it is aiming to cater to 600,000 OFWs by February.

It said an average of 1,300 OFWs are arriving daily at NAIA Terminal 1, while 1,200 OFWs are at NAIA Terminal 3.

The lounges offer a variety of food and beverage options, along with comfortable chairs, Wi-Fi, and charging areas for OFWs awaiting their flights.

The project is a joint effort of the House of Representatives, OWWA, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and the Manila International Airport Authority. —Giselle Ombay/RF, GMA Integrated News
