Finland attracts skilled Pinoy workers with up to P100K monthly salary, chance to bring family
Filipinos seeking jobs abroad may apply to Finland which offers the chance to earn a monthly salary of around P100,000 and the opportunity to bring their families to the Northern European country.
According to JP Soriano’s “24 Oras” report on Thursday, bringing the family of a foreign worker is one of the benefits offered by Finland, which recently signed a Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) with the Philippines.
Finland has a policy that if a foreign worker is earning sufficiently, he will be allowed to bring his family to live in the country while he is working.
“For Finland, it’s important for those workers who would like to come bring their families. It’s also possible, and we try to help them find work for their spouses as well. And they can also get their children to Finland and to school if they like it that way,” said Finland Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment Minister Arto Olavi Sartonen.
The Nordic nation is in need of skilled workers, hotel and tourism workers, restaurant staff, IT personnel, and healthcare workers like nursing staff and caregivers.
According to the Finnish government, they give importance to labor equality, so even foreign workers have the same monthly minimum wage as locals, which is about 1,600 euros or over P19,000, depending on the nature of the work and industry.
The signed agreement also includes upskilling Filipino healthcare workers.
“One can come in, let’s say as a caregiver or nurse assistant, and be upgraded from there in Finland so this is something that is also suited to our healthcare demands in our very own country,” DMW Secretary Hans Cacdac said.
The DMW also warned the public against fake job orders online to avoid falling victim to illegal recruiters.
