DFA: Body of Filipina killed in Slovenia may be repatriated this week
The body of the Filipina migrant who was allegedly killed by her husband in Slovenia could possibly be repatriated within the week, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Monday.
“Possible within the week kasi nakuha na ang autopsy report. Pero hindi po guaranteed,” said DFA Undersecretary Eduardo De Vega in a message to GMA News Online.
The DFA said on Sunday that the Philippine Embassy in Vienna is already working with Slovenian authorities regarding the repatriation of the remains of Marvil Facturan and the attainment of justice for the victim.
The department also said that the Philippine Honorary Consul in Bratislava has also helped in gathering information and facilitating coordination.
Facturan was reportedly killed by her husband, Mitja Kocjancic, during a vacation in Bled, Slovenia on December 29, according to a statement from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas. —KG, GMA Integrated News
